Dr. Hurtt has 25 years of industry experience in Clinical Development. After graduating from Jefferson Medical College and completing an internship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, he served as a medical officer in the United States Navy.

After a residency in neurology and neuropathology, he joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Hurtt’s career in clinical development began at Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research (acquired by Pfizer). Subsequently, Dr. Hurtt worked at Neurogen Corporation after which he went onto Alseres Pharmaceuticals, where he was Chief Medical Officer. Since 2010, he’s been a consultant to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, often serving as an interim Chief Medical Officer.
